Notice: This is a self-guided tour, in which you travel individually. A great journey is given as recommendation, which you can discover by car, bike and a tent.

Day 1 – 2 Arrival Santiago
You will be picked up and transferred to your overnight; a lovely family owned bed and breakfast. You can spend 2 days to explore the friendly and lively capital of Chile.

Day 3 Valparaiso – Vina del Mar
It is time for you to pick up your car, bikes and camping equipment! These will be your buddy for the next 15 days and will bring you all the way up to Northern Chile! The night you will stay in a cosy hostel in Valparaiso.

Day 4 – 5 Valle del Elqui
A beautiful long drive will take you from Valparaiso to Valle del Equi. During this drive you will see the landscape slightly changing in a desert landscape with cactuses. Arriving, you will stay 2 nights in a beautiful cabin in Valle del Elqui.

Day 6 - 7 Punta Choros
Punta Choros is a marvellous place to discover the fauna, a famous place for wildlife viewers. The sea is characterised by colonies of dolphins, penguins and sea otters. With its beautifl beaches and many small islands, it is the perfect place for you to get your tent out of the back of the car and start camping!

Day 8 – Bahia Inglesa
In the beautiful seaside resort Bahia Inglesa many nice campsites can be found. It is characterised by white sandy beaches and clear, turquoise water; a perfect area to explore the off the beaten tracks!

Day 9 – 10 Pan de Azucar
The coming days you have the opportunity to camp in a national park. Here you have the chance to meet the see lions and penguins. It is a perfect place for camping on the beach.

Day 11 Antofagasta
After 5 days of camping you will stay in a more comfortable hostel in Antofagasta, the most important harbour city of Chile.

Day 12 – 14 San Pedro de Atacama
From this little desert village you can visit the Tatio Geysers. The area is home to many animal species including the Vicuna, a type of South American camel.

Day 15 Iquique
In Iquique you have the change to visit many interesting historical places and buildings.

Day 16 Parque Nacional Volcan Isluga
Parque Naciaol Volcan Isluaga is located in the first region of Chile. Must sees in the park are the spas and geysers, which can reach up to 85 C.

Day 17 – 18 Arica
Your last stop will be in Arica, a beautiful beach resort which will give you the change to relax and look back on your amazing road trip! You can watch the pelicans eating fish and the sea lions chilling in the harbour. From here you can plan to go further into South America and cross the border of Peru or Bolivia.
