Tour Description

ParkThis tour includes some of the principal streets, neighbourhoods, and palaces of the city of Viña del Mar and Valparaíso.  We will visit residential districts, commercial centres and travel along the coast from where we can enjoy the beaches of the fashionable resort of Viña del Mar.  Funicular

We will then continue along to the port of Valparaíso, known as “the jewel of the Pacific” and famous for its funiculars which transport you up into the hills from where there are always spectacular views.   By taking a walk on Concepción Hill you will have the chance to discover its architecture, brightly-painted buildings and constantly changing views which make Valparaíso so special.
 

Beach with rocks.After lunch we will drive to Isla Negra, the tranquil family seaside resort where the famous Chilean poet and winner of the Nobel Prize for literature, Pablo Neruda, spent a significant part of his life.  Of his many homes he always considered Isla Negra to be his favourite. This visit will take us into his house on the island and we will be able to see his impressive collection of miniatures, boats, ships, seashells and many more interesting objects. This was a place where he could relax with friends and pass away the hours talking about anything and everything.  

After a tour of the house, we will have time to visit the garden, Neruda’s grave and the beach before we head back to Santiago.

08:00 hrs: Depart from hotel in Santiago and head towards V region
09:30 hrs: Arrive in Viña del Mar
10:30 hrs: Drive along coast to Valparaíso
11:30 hrs: Walk on Conception Hill
13:00 hrs: Lunch
14:00 hrs: Depart for Isla Negra
15:00 hrs: Arrive at Isla Negra
15:30 hrs: Tour of Isla Negra
17:30 hrs: Leave Isla Negra
19:00 hrs: Return to Santiago
