Chile´s extreme landscapes, from the desert in the north,
to the fjords and glaciers in the south, are not the only richness
it counts on. The vast array of indigenous cultures most Southamericans
and the modern world have long forgotten, is a patrimony of
this region that if not rescued, could soon disappear. The still
existing aboriginals often live in far inhabited areas and belong
to one of the poorest sectors in the country, and though today
supported by organizations international and national to regain
their land and traditions, they have a hard time surviving and
fighting to maintain them.
Come join us to discover these cultures and support them by
working on a volunteer project aimed to improve their way of
life and get to know their traditions in an environment of respect
and intercultural exchange. This experience will be both rewarding,
beneficial and educational for both parts.
Taste the Chilean culture, while improving the living conditions
of the many indigenous in Chile. Explore Chile and work in local
Atacameñon towns for teaching English. Or go to the mystical
Islands of Chiloé and help to preserve the identity of
the customs and ethnic heritage of the indigenous. Let them
transmit their beautiful culture to yours!
You
also have the opportunity to train young people in rural communities
with our mentoring programs; repair or extend rural houses where
families live cramped together; preserve Chilean “Petroglyphs”
in the desert; or create signage for tourism centres and other
areas of interests. While exploring Chile, you can help improve
the quality of life for many Chilean families.
We
offer volunteer programs throughout Chile in many different
areas from the Atacama Desert to the wild and unique scenery
of Patagonia. We created our volunteer programs nearby touristy
attraction. Why did we do this? Because in the touristy areas
a lot of money is earned by tourism, but the surrounded communities
are forgotten unknown places, with people bagging for support
and development!
Our
volunteer programs give you the chance to really immerse yourself
in the country’s culture. giving you the opportunity to
meet the people who a tourist wouldn’t normally meet.
These people are the substance of what really makes Chile such
an amazing place. Many of our packages include language training
as we believe that this will help you to have a greater and
more meaningful experience.
